Rough Draft Nick Maerz

All people must consume food to survive. Some people have limited access as to what kind of food is available, while other people are able to access a wide variety of different types of food. While many people dont have the option of going down to the local grocery store, we in America do. Even the poorest people in America have many options available to get different types of food that many people in other countries cant. With this being said, eating has become more of a comfort and a want, vs a need like many other people in poorer countries. Due to this massive availability of food, Americans have become over weight and many just plain obese. Since childhood my own views on what food means to me has changed many times. I have had times when i had very little food to eat, and other times when ive had more than enough, and eat purely for the pleasue instead of the basic need that it is.
As a kid i was what i would consider poor, but i always had enough to eat. To me being poor was not having the type of snacks that i wanted or not having steak for dinner every week. Even then, as a kid, I was brain washed into thinking that food is a luxerie and needed to be consumed in great amounts, and the more expensive it was, the better it was. I rember feeling like i was getting cheated out of something special, becouse i wasnt going to MC Donalds every week.
